The Grand Canyon has many geographic features. Canyons, basins, plateaus, forests, and a river can be found in Grand Canyon National Park. It is considered a semi-arid desert, but many habitats are located at the different elevations. The park is most famous for its numerous, colorful canyons. Within these canyon walls there are an estimated one thousand hidden caves. On the canyon walls, there are many faults exposed. Three forest communities can be found at high elevations in the park: two pine forests and one spruce fir forest. The Colorado River flows through the Grand Canyon along with around twenty other streams.
